Located Just 50 miles east of Vancouver is the heart of the Fraser Valley, this region offers some of the best freshwater fishing found anywhere in British Columbia. The Fraser River offers world Class Sturgeon and Salmon Fishing as well as some great trout fishing on tributary rivers like the Vedder River, Harrison River and the Upper Pitt River, we are also licensed to guide for trophy trout on over 50 interior freshwater lakes.

Sturgeon fishing on the Fraser River is a world class fishery, a rare opportunity for any visitor or angler. Sturgeon fishing on the Fraser River is a unique fishery offering anglers a real chance at catching the biggest fish they will ever catch. Over the past 17 years, STS Guiding has landed thousands of Trophy Sturgeon. Our guests travel from around the world to experience this incredible fishery. You can drive out from Vancouver and do a day trip, stay with us at the Delta Airport Hotel or stay with us at our Freshwater Lodge or Anglers Retreat located near Mission, only 50 miles east of Vancouver. We offer single day trips, multi-day packages or weekly long holidays. Best fishing for sturgeon is between March 15 to Nov 15.

Freshwater Salmon Fishing

The Fraser River is one of the largest salmon bearing rivers in the world boasting returns of salmon between 10 to 50 million per year. The Fraser River is the heart of salmon fishing in SW British Columbia. Most of the salmon that migrate along our coastal waters are returning to the Fraser River. In 2010 over 35 million Sockeye Salmon returned to the Fraser, in 2011 we are expecting another great year with millions of sockeye, Pink, Chum, Chinook and Coho salmon expected to return to our home waters. Best fishing for salmon in our rivers is between July 15 to Oct 31.

Freshwater Fly Fishing

There are some great opportunities to fly fish for both salmon and trout while visiting Vancouver. Within 2 hours drive there are over 7 rivers and hundreds of lakes to explore. We choose to fish the best of these rivers and lakes and offer some of the most unique fly fishing experiences found anywhere in Vancouver.

The Upper Pitt River, Lillooet River, Fraser River and Harrison River all offer excellent fishing for both salmon and trout. Freshwater Trout Fishing

Trout fishing in Vancouver and surrounding area can be exceptional at times. We fly & Spin fish for two species of sea-run trout, Rainbow Trout, Cutthroat Trout & Dolly Varden. Our team of fishing guides can offer you a complete experience whether your wanting to fly fish for Steelhead, Bull Trout, Kamloops Rainbows or Coastal Cutthroat. We fish both rivers and lakes offering guided day trips on local and remote rivers, overnight camps in wilderness setting and combination fishing holidays from 2 to 14 days. Fly fishing for Trout is year round fishery with several peak periods when fishing is spectacular.

Pitt River - We are lucky enough to have one of British Columbia's best kept secrets just outside our back door. Located just 40 minutes drive from Vancouver, this isolated location has no road access and is only accessible by float plane or Jet Boat. Difficult access means no crowds. Upper Pitt River is located at the North end of Pitt Lake, the largest tidal lake in North America. The resident trout are all wild stock - and incredibly beautiful. Good populations of resident trout and sea-run Char are in the river year round. Approximately 40 miles of river awaits you.
